FEEDER : X-Y out of range! Pick up by Head 2 | 25 July, 2016

Up and running smoothly this morning, but got the attached error when switching from a reel feeder to a tray of the same part.

We are getting this error message during setup - any suggestions are welcome. I am available to answer any questions that might help to resolve this.

Have you taught the tray position in correctly, I dont know that particular machine but you normally teach in 3 positions. When you have done this have you re-optimised?

I have seen a similar error on a Quad 4C machine. When setting up the parameters on a tray part there are several points of data you have to input. You have to teach where the center of the 1st part (and you have to know which corner your machine considers the starting part). Then you have to tell what the "step and repeat" is to get from the center of the 1st part to the center of the 2nd part, and so on till you have completed the 1st row. Then you have to do the same for the 2nd column and through to the last column. that way the machine knows where each individual part is in the matrix tray. If any of those data points are off, or if you have input too many rows/columns the machine thinks that there will be some parts out of reach for the pick up head.
