IPC/WHMA-A-620 Trainer (CIT) Certification Training Course

Workmanship standards and inspection criterion for cable and wire harness assemblies.

This 4 day course was developed in conjunction with the WHMA, Wire Harness Manufacturing Association and is the industry standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation. The CIT level certification is an engineering level course designed to allow the successful candidate to certify individuals in their company to the 620 CIS level or to simply be a higher level certification.

Certified Instructor Receives IPC Certification, good for 24 months. Everyone who successfully completes the Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Training Certification and examination will receive the materials necessary for conducting Application Specialist Certification and Recertification Training including:

• IPC/WHMA-A-620A Standard
• CD illustrating all facets of the IPC/WHMA-A-620A training program
• Instructors guide providing complete instructions for Operator training and certification

*Note: the IPC-A-620 Curriculum does not include any hands-on soldering.

Objective

Upon successful completion of this training program participants will be certified as Certified IPC Trainers. With this portable credential, Instructors can train and certify operators and inspectors based on needs. Instructors will obtain the knowledge to:

• Reference the IPC/WHMA-A-620A standard to make acceptable/reject decisions
• Proficiently conduct Operator courses in modules per IPC requirements
• Correctly interpret and teach the intent of the IPC/WHMA-A-620A standard
• Explain terminology and their definitions
• Demonstrate hands on techniques in cutting, stripping, and tinning wires.
• Crimping, use of solder sleeves, solder cups, BOM and Blueprint instruction, tie wrapping, and pull testing using a cable assembly training kit.
• Successfully pass the instructors exams with an 80% or better
