The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) course is designed to improve individual discrimination skills, which means to improve the accuracy of discriminating between an acceptable or not acceptable cable or wire harness assembly per the IPC/WHMA-A-620 document.

This IPC 620 training program is designed for those with at least of a 5th-grade level with respect to reading and writing. Associates taking the IPC-A-620 certification training class need to be familiar with different connector terms and EOS/ESD practices. This is a lecture only class and does not include any connector or wire harness assembly as part of the training regimen.

Course Objective

  • Be able to reference the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard to make accept/reject decisionsbase don the material learned in the IPC 620 certification training class
  • Interpret IPC terminology and their definitions
  • Earn an overall score of 70% or better on the IPC A620 certification examination for IPC certified specialists (CIS candidates)

IPC A 620 certification at the associates level (CIS) is a portable credential belonging to the associate. The longevity of the training is for two years and consists of 2 mandatory modules as well as numerous other optional modules for the 620 certification program.
