Microscan to instruct machine vision courses and demonstrate products at The Vision Show

May 20, 2010

RENTON, WA — Microscan, a global technology leader for track and trace solutions, announces the instruction of two educational machine vision courses and product demonstrations at The Vision Show. The Vision Show is organized by the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) and is scheduled to take place May 25–27, 2010 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. In Booth 210, Microscan will actively demonstrate more than 15 products including machine vision lighting, software, and hardware, plus auto ID barcode products.

“It is clear that the technologies required to support auto ID and machine vision applications are merging. Recent safety and product recalls have emphasized the need for both the traceability provided by auto ID systems, as well as the inspection and control of machine vision systems,” notes Andrew Zosel, Global Vice President of Marketing. “Microscan is one of the few manufacturers which can provide complete solutions encompassing auto ID and machine vision.”

In addition to product demonstrations, Microscan is again instructing sessions as part of The Vision Conference. Microscan course instructor Dr. Jonathan Ludlow, Senior Product Manager, has instructed machine vision technology courses for AIA for multiple years and brings more than 20 years of expertise in machine vision technology. Dr. Ludlow will be instructing a tutorial on Advanced Lighting Techniques, in addition to a course on Machine Vision Traceability, Error Proofing, and Part Marking.

As a global technology leader for precision data acquisition and control solutions, Microscan manufactures a comprehensive line of products encompassing solutions for vision, lighting and auto ID.

“One challenge facing integration partners today is the lack of scalability or availability from various vendors. Many vendors have different software platforms for different hardware options,” notes Matt Van Bogart, Channel Manager. “Microscan is the only vendor to provide a single comprehensive machine vision solution including NERLITE® lighting, cameras, and software. Basically, with Microscan you get all of the hardware needed, and with Visionscape® software you don’t need to learn multiple programs to support your customers.”
