ECT’s FSG To Debut Latest Technologies At APEX 2010

Mar 24, 2010

Pomona, CA, March 2010 — Everett Charles Technologies (ECT) Fixture Services Group (FSG) announces that it will debut the company’s latest technologies in booth 1283 at the upcoming IPC/APEX conference and exhibition, scheduled to take place April 6-8, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas.

ECT's Fixture Services Group will be on hand to demonstrate the company’s new technologies and answer customer inquiries related to its range of new products, which include:

ZOOM™ Fixture - ZOOM test fixtures are designed for ultra fine-pitch probing of loaded PCBs, and can test down to 24 mil [0.6 mm] centers and 15 mil diameter targets. Loaded PCBs are now more complex than ever. Finding locations for test points on traditional 50 mil centers or even 39 mil centers with 18 mil diameter targets is difficult. Achieving 90 percent or more test coverage in many cases has become more than a significant challenge ? it has become impossible. With ECT ZOOM fixtures, it is not only possible, it is cost efficient.

ECT's patented technology accomplishes this by inserting a tilted pin plate stack between the device under test and a grid of 100 mil probes. The cost of a tilted pin plate stack and 100 mil probes is far less than the cost of using the 0.8 mm probes available on the market today. Not only can any tester type be utilized, but the ZOOM fixture uses conventional wiring methods, allowing for the fastest, most cost efficient assembly speeds.

MetriX™ - The MetriX was designed for close center probing of loaded PCBs, and provides test access down to 39 mil [1 mm] centers and 18 mil diameter targets. MetriX probes are available with traditional high-performance gold plating, a wide range of spring forces, and ECT’s proprietary LFRE plating for increased life and resistance to contamination. The "receptacle-less" design allows a 50 mil diameter probe to be used in 39 mil locations, resulting in a more robust test probe solution. With ECT’s automated design and manufacturing, the manufacturing lead time of MetriX fixtures is comparable to that of conventional fixtures.

ECT Pneumatic Fixture Demo - ECT continuously adds custom functional designs to its database from working with many of the major OEMS in the technology market.

ICT Fixture Demo - ECT will display its full service demo with all device types and complexities. ECT specializes in all aspects of boundary scan, including BSDL, Complex Chains and Silicon Nails testing.

Dual Stage Mechanism - A very reliable, mechanical (no power required), dual stage mechanism for in-circuit test fixtures that allows for testing in two stages. Applications for dual stage include in-circuit/functional, boundary scan, flash programming, or analog and powered testing for switched power supplies. It also is easy to activate and deactivate during fixture debug.

VG Interface Products - VG is an industry standard, proven design for mass interconnect interfaces on functional test racks and bench testers.
