Norwegian CEM Hapro Choose Valor’s Trilogy Design for Manufacture Software

Dec 07, 2009

Valor Computerized Systems, global provider of productivity improvement software across the printed circuit board design and manufacturing supply chain, announces that Norwegian company Hapro has selected and successfully installed its best-practice Trilogy Design for Manufacture Engineering Software.

Contract Electronics Manufacturer, Hapro, set out to streamline their PCB assembly process and accelerate a highly effective new product introduction process to meet current and future demand. Valor’s Trilogy vManage software solution had already been incorporated in Hapro’s manufacturing process for some time and rendered Valor an obvious choice in this new selection process.

The new installation follows an extensive evaluation by Hapro of the popular DFM Trilogy engineering software from Valor. Following which the Trilogy software was deemed to be the only solution capable of catering to the needs of their production process, with its ability to radically improve the workflow and fit seamlessly with existing equipment in the current process.

Hapro purchased Valor’s software in (month) of 2009 and the installation of the system at their facility in Norway was completed in (month). The Valor software solutions implemented at Hapro cover the entire manufacturing preparation and execution process, including (design for manufacturing (DFM) analysis of native CAD files, multi vendor SMT programming and optimization, component level materials management, SMT part verification and complete process traceability – Stephan, is this true of Hapro’s installation?????).

Luc Vranken, (title) at Valor explains: “Hapro is one of Norway’s leading contract electronics manufacturers, so we are extremely pleased that they have been able to demonstrate for themselves the considerable benefits this software offers.”

Based North of Oslo, Hapro occupies a 13,500 square metre modern industrial plant, with a 900 sq. metre professional qualification centre. Hapro has an engaged and highly professional workforce of more than 500, who thrive in a creative and innovative environment. The company puts its success down to their flexible approach and high investment level in the best technology on the market. And its longevity down to its core values of honesty, openness, responsibility and respect for its customers, staff and suppliers.

(Stephan, is this true of the Hapro installation?) …..The Trilogy DFM and DFA software will allow Hapro to accelerate the introduction of new products. Hapro’s customers will now receive an HTML report complete with images of potential PCB design problems that could negatively impact the manufacturing, assembly and test of their products. The Valor DFM software reduces the risk of delays in the product development cycle as a whole. The assembly processes have also been optimized with the implementation of the Valor vPlan software. In addition to automatic assembly machine programming and optimization, the vPlan system generates the necessary documentation for manual and automatic assembly stations as well as visual controls for inspection. Overall the vPlan system enables better execution of the activities on the factory floor and a reduction of the preparation time for all assembly processes. The implementation of the vManage module has enabled greater control for all of the activities in the plant. This occurs through accurate materials management, closed loop setup verification of the machines, monitoring of the equipment and fast identification of issues and errors on the assembly line.

Hapro is extremely satisfied with the acquisition and implementation of this latest Valor software solution and is already enjoying the benefits it offers to the company and its customers.
