Due to the increase of densely populated double-sided circuit boards, the need for flexible, easily setup board supports has increased. To meet this demand, Production Solutions Inc., has developed the Red-E-Set autoset system for use on inline screen printers, dispensers and pick-and-place machines.
RED-E-SET autoset is an automated inline system, providing hands-free operation. For those customers that want tool-less locking of the support tooling and further reduction of changeover and setup time, the autoset is the ideal solution.
Key benefits include a high number of support points that provide maximum support on all boards, changeover in minutes, low maintenance, and maximum support for single- and double-sided boards.
The RED-E-SET uses independently spring-loaded, nonabrasive, ESD-safe support pins that lock into place to conform to a board’s contour for repeat usage. The unit also is available in a mechanical version and is interchangeable between machines.
Unlike other support methods such as fixed pin, custom fixtures, or other more expensive support modules, the RED-E-SET is flexible and cost effective. The patented spring-loaded pin support system reduces setup time, eliminates board flex, reduces defects and increases throughput. The system can reduce setup time by as much as 84 percent.
