Munich, Germany, May 5, 2009 - Despite a difficult worldwide economic climate, productronica 2009 will host most of the world's leading electronics production manufacturers at it's biennial productronica trade fair from November 10 to 13, 2009.
*The show must go on*
Although many exhibitors have experienced revenue declines approaching 60%, seriously affecting their investment activities, most will appear at the show - although frequently occupying smaller spaces. Klaus Dittrich, CEO of Messe Mnchen, explained, "We will present productronica 2009 as an event which offers both exhibitors and visitors even more utility value thanks to a large number of innovations. Leading international trade fairs are often more stable than the market since companies want to exhibit their products and services at these central industry meeting-points even during times of crisis. Every market leader will therefore be represented at productronica 2009, but in many cases with smaller exhibition stands than usual. Consequently, we have seen a crisis-induced fall of 30% in the amount of exhibition space. Just like in previous years, the trade fair will again cover the entire value-added chain."
Mr. Dittrich sees a positive outcome despite negative economic times. "Productronica will emerge from the financial and economic crisis in much stronger shape. The innovations which we are introducing at productronica 2009 are an important step in this direction. Other innovations will follow at productronica 2011. Messe Mnchen is well-known for its capacity to innovate. We want to confirm this reputation through productronica."
*Innovation all along the line*
The world's leading trade fair for innovative electronics production has adopted the slogan "Innovation all along the line", since industry innovations have become more necessary than ever before. The focus areas will highlight innovative future-oriented products and processes from leading suppliers. The focus areas will also feature industry growth markets: photovoltaic manufacturing, micronano production, organic electronics and electronic manufacturing services. There will be ample opportunities at the show for exchanging knowledge and holding discussions.
Parallelling industry innovation, the productronica show has also undergone innovative changes, starting with the new logo and slogan. Messe Mnchen also offers Innovation Field Packages, a low cost way for young companies involved in one of the focus areas to exhibit at the show in a 129 sq ft booth at very advantageous rates.
Focus areas are dedicated to topics that clearly stand for progress and the future, covering everything from micronano-production and photovoltaics manufacturing to electronics manufacturing services (EMS), organic electronics and the production of hybrid components.
*Munich Electronics Summit
*
The Munich Electronics Summit, held on the first day of the trade fair, will become an annual event linking productronica with electronica, shows which are held on alternate years. It will include a public keynote address, the CEO Round Table - a well-established discussion forum featuring world-renowned group CEOs - and an exclusive networking evening for CEOs and top managers of large enterprises. Dr. Jrgen W. Gromer, former President of Tyco Electronics, will host the summit.
