VJ Electronix to Feature Summit 1800 Advanced Rework System at APEX 2009

Mar 17, 2009

March 2009 VJ Electronix, Inc., the leader in rework technologies and global provider of advanced X-ray inspection systems, announces that it will showcase the Summit 1800 advanced rework system in booth 2265 at the upcoming 2009 APEX Electronics Manufacturing Exhibition and Conference, scheduled to take place Tuesday, March 31 through Thursday, April 2, 2009, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

VJ Electronix' Summit 1800 Rework system provides advanced features specifically designed to address the most challenging rework applications, including the Lead-Free processing of BGA, uBGA, CSP, flip chip, MCM, PoP, and vertical or straddle mount connectors. The Summit 1800 accommodates a full spectrum of component sizes, from the largest sockets to the smallest discrete components including 0201 and even 01005 packages.

A 65 mm alignment field of view high-resolution vision system and programmable force capability ensures precise placement. The exclusive use of Summit's programmable Independent Component Pick-Up Tube and Heater Positioning ensures ultimate process flexibility, providing Zero Force Component Removal and Placement along with precise heater positioning to allow either gasketed or hovered component heating.

The Summit 1800 now offers new non-contact Automated Solder Removal utilizing Dynamic Height Sensing Scavenger with programmable X-Y positioning to ensure damage-free solder removal of both lead and lead-free alloys. Coupled with new Triple-Stage Convection Heating, the Summit 1800 provides even more Process Flexibility.

The Summit series gains its control from tried and true WindowsTM-based SierraMate Rework Software with One-Run Auto Profile recipe generation and 1,2,3-Go! easy user interface with ultimate process control. Numerous additional features are available like Component Print Station for solder or flux re-deposition and Positive Flow Control for peak temperature protection of thermally sensitive components. Its robust production ready construction continues to be proven in 24/7 environments worldwide. These features and more make the Summit 1800 the first choice of leading EMS and OEM companies.
