Essemtec Introduces CDS6200 with Two Jet Dispenser Systems

Mar 06, 2009

Essemtec, the leading manufacturer of SMT production machines, introduces the CDS6200 with two Jet dispensers. The jet-dispensing technology allows proportioning of various media at a large number of points. Because the materials to be dispensed have various specific characteristics, which partially depend on environmental conditions, selecting valves that are suitable for particular materials are necessary. CDS6200 with two Jet dispensers provides the technology to do this.

The machine concept consists of a CDS6200 with two various Jet valves fixed at its head. Additionally, this system contains a custom built vacuum table, which can be adjusted manually to the height of +10 mm and can be triggered independently via software.

The vacuum table, which fixes the carrier for the component, enables users to work a vast range of applications. However, it is removable from the table by hand and can be easily added when needed. This system has been well tried in the past on other pick-and-place systems. Like this, an identical vacuum table is used for the placement of 0402 components at flexible substrates with a FLX2011.

Particularly at the placement of LEDs as well as at further applications where similar components in large scale must be placed at the carrier for the components, the double-dispenser provides a significant times savings. Using the two Jet valves media, two different adhesives can be deposited simultaneously. Because of this, the processing time per component is greatly reduced. A third Jet dispenser, which can be installed at the same head, can further minimize the processing time.

The proportioning systems of the CDS-series are flexible platforms, which can be adjusted modularly for numerous applications. They have a vast standard selection of valves and functions at their disposal. Programming and operating remains easy and enables the flexible adjustment of process parameters in operation. The customized adjustments were designed and implemented with consideration to technical feasibility and economic efficiency.

Essemtec, the Swiss manufacturer of machines, is the leader in the branch of flexible production systems for the industry. Since 1991, Essemtec has developed, fabricated and distributed equipment and machines for all processes of electronic manufacturing: printer, dispenser, placer and solder systems. Manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic systems also are available, as well as transportation and storing systems and software solutions for planning, simulation, optimization and documentation of the fabrication. All Essemtec systems are optimized on maximum flexibility. Users can change over from one product to the next as quickly as possible, simultaneously taking advantage of the optimal production.
