Integrated EMS provider Suntron Corp. today announced the expansion of its Tijuana, Mexico, facility to include automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production. Suntron's Mexico facility focuses on high-mix, complex electronics manufacturing services, specializing in quick-turn assembly of printed circuit cards, cable and harnesses, and box build.
James Bass, Suntron president and CEO, said the company will continue to invest in Mexico and other low-cost regions in an effort to increase customer value.
Suntron's Tijuana facility services a variety of high-reliability commercial and aerospace applications, as well as medical and semiconductor capital equipment end-markets. With the new expansion, Suntron said it is now capable of producing double-sided SMT boards up to 10-mil pitch, BGA, with full test capabilities.
