The course provides details about the root causes of many poorly understood electronic failures. It will discuss sources of contamination and the adverse effects of contamination on high-rel electronic systems.
The course will be taught by David Douthit, who has consulted for over 30 years in the troubleshooting, repair and failure prevention of electronic circuitry and systems. More information about Mr Douthit at http://www.equipment-reliability.com/course3.htm.
Participants will realize the potential cost savings of highly accelerated life testing (HALT) that combines contamination with traditional testing protocols. The course will enable participants to generate more realistic test data needed for (1) predicting long term reliability and for (2) predicting warranty/infant mortality.
This course is needed by military and other end-users of high reliability electronic systems, prime contractors, OEMs, and vendors involved with contractual requirements involving performance-based specifications and warranties. Conformal coatings sometimes fail to provide needed protection.
