DEK's Heimsch to Chair APEX� Steering Committee

FEBRUARY 11, 2002--Richard Heimsch, president of DEK International (Flemington, NJ), has accepted an invitation from the IPC SMEMA Council to chair the APEX� 2003 steering committee. APEX, the IPC SMEMA Council's Electronics Assembly Process Exhibition and Conference, opened in March 2000 as an industry-driven forum focusing on electronics assembly products and technology.

"APEX has achieved tremendous success though its fundamental recognition of the need for a strictly focused electronics exhibition and by creating a program that provides tangible value for exhibitors, conference delegates and visitors alike," Heimsch commented. "From its inception, the industry-led steering committee helped establish the event as informative, vibrant and compelling. I'm delighted to be invited to contribute to building APEX 2003."

Heimsch is president of DEK International GmbH, a provider of pre-placement surface-mount process and technologies. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, he has been instrumental in building DEK's global position since he joined the company in 1988. Born and educated in the U.S., Heimsch previously managed DEK's worldwide distribution operation. In 2000 he relocated to Zurich when DEK International was created.
