IPC Anticipates Full Show Floor at IPC Printed Circuits Expo 2002

Dec 11, 2001

IPC- Association Connecting Electronics Industries has announced that preparations are well underway for IPC Printed Circuits Expo 2002, to take place March 24-28, at the Long Beach Convention Center, Long Beach, Calif.

"We are looking forward to an exciting and successful IPC Printed Circuits Expo in March of 2002," said IPC President Denny McGuirk. "At the request of past attendees and exhibitors, we've brought the show back to Long Beach and despite the current state of the economy, we expect to see representation from all the major suppliers in the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry at Expo."

Now in its eighth year, IPC Printed Circuits Expo continues to be North America's largest exhibition and conference for the PCB industry with exhibitors currently contracted to fill Halls A, B and C of the Long Beach Convention Center.

IPC is also planning a wide variety of showfloor activities for this year. Throughout the exhibition, an Innovative Technology Showcase (ITS) will be set-up in a designated area on the showfloor. The ITS will offer exhibitors an opportunity to highlight emerging technology products and services that can greatly benefit companies that are evaluating new ways of doing business.

A reception on Tuesday, March 26 from 4:30-6:00 p.m., will also be available on the showfloor. Refreshments will be provided during this free reception and attendees will be able to leisurely network with customers and suppliers.

Other events at IPC Printed Circuits Expo include two keynote presentations. On Tuesday, March 26, Bob Ballard will present, "Secrets of an Undersea Explorer," a pictorial and verbal presentation about his world-renown explorations, including images from the ruins of the RMS Titanic. A panel of PCB experts will present the second keynote, "Position Your Company for the Future," on Wednesday, March 27. The presenters will speak candidly about what PCB companies will be expected to produce in the future.

Preparations for the IPC Printed Circuits Expo 2002 technical conference program and education courses are in full swing. This year's technical conference is focused on the technological advances in the printed circuit industry and offers the most comprehensive information about new materials, techniques and processes; many of IPC Printed Circuits Expo 2002's 15 tutorials and 19 workshops will concentrate on microvias, photonics, and laser.

Plans are also continuing for several special events, including the IPC PWB Presidents' Management Meeting on March 25-26, detailing the future of the PWB industry and the "Exploration Celebration," the annual Wednesday night party featuring the musical talents of Splash! and offering an abundance of games and networking opportunities.
