Top executives from leading electronics companies across the United States – all members of IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries® – will call on the Trump Administration and Congress to support policies that drive advanced manufacturing on May 1-3 for IMPACT Washington, D.C. 2017. This year, IPC will present the Government IMPACT Award to Reps. John Shimkus (R-IL) and Kurt Schrader (D-OR) for their willingness to take leadership action in support of the electronics manufacturing industry. Rep. Shimkus is a senior member of the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee and was a leading figure in achieving enactment of the TSCA Modernization Act, which will bring the regulation of toxic substances into the 21st Century.
Rep. Schrader was a key player on the Democratic side on the TSCA Modernization Act, and he also played an active role in organizing congressional opposition to the Obama Administration’s ill-advised overtime rules. IPC will present the Government IMPACT Award to these gentlemen during a VIP dinner on May 2. Information on confirmed speakers and meetings will be forthcoming. More information is available at www.ipc.org/IMPACT-2017. IPC members with questions may contact IPC Vice President of Government Relations, John Hasselmann, at JohnHasselmann@ipc.org or +1 202-661-8091.
