EC Fans and Drives Launches Two New Energy Efficient Motors

[January 26, 2016: New Bedford, MA] EC Fans & Drives, a division of, announced the release of two new energy efficient EC motors this week at the 2016 AHR Show in Orlando Florida.

A specialized engineering team assembled by EC Fans & Drives has been developing and testing a new series of motors these past two years which are now ready for production. The new models, EConomy and EXRi50, were both developed to combat the highly competitive commercial refrigeration and HVAC markets to specifically address the need for lower cost and an increase of energy efficiency. Most recently the motors have successfully completed a 6-month beta test with several top tier companies.

The EConomy and EXRi50 not only solve the issue of improving the energy efficiency but they also improve the reliability by reducing warranty costs due to IP rating. An advantage the EXRi50 provides is that it has a slim profile which it can be used in applications where the current EC motor technology can not physically fit.

EConomy Specifications: Single speed, single direction, entry-level EC motor. The operating range of output power is 1-16 watts, class-leading efficiency with extremely competitive pricing.

EXRi50 Specifications: Global voltage, single speed, single direction, EC fans assembly, available as a fan-pack with integrated fan ring. Offers an extremely slim profile for applications where space constrictions may be a concern.
