Kurtz Ersa North America, a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, is pleased to announce that Universal Electronics, Inc. (UEI) has purchased a POWERFLOW N2 full nitrogen tunnel wave solder machine. UEI has been providing contract electronics manufacturing services to medical, industrial-commercial, communication and security OEMs since 1980. The system will be installed at UEI’s Whitewater, WI facility.

UEI provides a full suite of manufacturing services with a focus on new product introduction (NPI), high mix, low-to-medium volume, complex PCBAs and full box builds. The company‘s promise to being "dedicated to customer satisfaction" carries a commitment to excellence along with an understanding that your business is key to theirs. UEI has two locations: Whitewater, WI; East Troy, WI.

Ersa’s flagship machine, the POWERFLOW N2, was specifically designed to meet the challenges of lead-free. The POWERFLOW N2 can reduce lead-free wave solder running costs by as much as 90 percent. Additionally, the machine highlights a 16" or 20" board width, plug and play pre-heat design (Medium IR, Convection, Short IR and now with new topside Convection) and 1.8 meters of preheat standard. Additional pre-heating of up to 2.4 meters can be added if needed.

Steve Quinn, Engineering Manager at UEI commented, “As a current user of ERSA equipment, UEI had first-hand knowledge of ERSA‘s commitment to cutting-edge technology and unsurpassed field tech support.  Once we performed and verfied several qualifications builds, we were able to establish an 18 month ROI based on solder, solder supplies, maintenance and cost of quaility.“

UEI’s ISO9001/13485 and ITAR-approved manufacturing facilities in the upper Midwest offer flexible engagement models and fast, cost-effective time-to-market strategies. With a tightly managed supply chain, UEI provides quick-turn prototyping, a proven NPI model and customized ramp-to-volume strategies.
