Metcal today announced that it has been awarded a 2014 SMT China Vision Award in the category of Hand Soldering Tools for its MX-500 Soldering and Rework System. The award was presented to the company during an April 23, 2014 ceremony at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center during NEPCON China.
“The industry has responded with very positives reviews, creating a great order trajectory, which gives us great confidence we have struck a very balanced value proposition,” commented Gary Stoffer, VP of Sales and Marketing. “We are very excited about the future of this line.”
Metcal’s updated MX-500 Soldering and Rework System utilizes SmartHeat® Technology wherein each cartridge is equipped with a self-regulating heater that ‘senses’ its own temperature and closely maintains its pre-set idle temperature for the life of the heater-tip. The MX-500 retains dual port, switchable 40W operation in a new housing, while introducing numerous new features including: integrated power indication meter, user programmable PowerSave mode, ground fault interrupt, universal power supply and compatibility with existing MX-5200 products.
SMT China magazine launched the SMT China Vision Awards in 2007 to recognize both international and domestic providers of SMT equipment, materials, software and services that have made outstanding contributions to the rapid growth of China's electronics manufacturing industry by their inventions and innovations.
