FUJI AMERICA HOSTS CONGRESSMAN BRAD SCHNEIDER Ongoing IPC Initiative to Open Dialogue Between Electronics Manufacturers and Policymakers

Feb 24, 2014

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) visited Fuji North America headquarters in Vernon Hills, Ill. to learn, first-hand, about policy and regulatory issues impacting the electronics manufacturing industry.

My sincerest thanks to Fuji and IPC for hosting today’s meeting,” said Rep. Schneider.I greatly appreciate the hard work and attention to detail that goes into manufacturing electronics, which make our lives more connected and our world safer. That’s why it’s so important that we focus energies on equipping our workforce with the necessary skills to thrive in the 21st century economy.”

Rep. Schneider’s visit to Fuji included a tour of the facility that supplies surface mount assembly equipment throughout North America and is used in the manufacturing of communication devices, computers and automotive electronics, as well as devices in the military, aerospace and medical sectors. The Congressman met with Fuji America executives and staff, and discussed a variety of issues including export controls, research and development tax credits and intellectual property protection.

"We were honored to host Congressman Schneider at our facility today,” said Tom Zabkiewicz, executive vice president. "It is critically important for our industry to engage with legislators through IPC to amplify our collective voices on policies and regulations that increase economic growth, spur job creation and incentivize companies to manufacture in the U.S.”

Rep. Schneider’s visit was part of IPC’s “Meet the Policymakers” program. Through this program, IPC government relations staff match IPC member companies with their respective representatives and work closely with each to schedule visits to company locations. Member companies interested in hosting a legislator should contact IPC Vice President of Government Relations John Hasselmann at JohnHasselmann@ipc.org
