The seminar, titled Soldering, Cleaning & Machine Efficiency, featured presentations by Sehar Samiappan, area technical manager – Indium Corporation; Jason Chan, technical applications manager - Kyzen; and Lee Hong Kim, solutions engineering manager - DEK. Each presenter delivered two presentations.
Sehar presented Alternate Pb-free Soldering Alloys and Preforms and Their Applications. Chan discussed Removal of Flux Residue from High-Lead processes and Cleaning Flux Residue under BTCs and Preventing White Residue. Kim presented Miniaturization Challenges and Competitive Advantages for the Semiconductor Industry.
Sehar provides field technical support to Indium Corporation’s customers. He conducts process evaluations, product trainings, designs of experiments (DOEs), and helps diagnose productivity issues in customer factories. Sehar is an electrical engineer with over 18 years of experience, mainly in the area of process, failure analysis, and production. He is an SMTA-certified process engineer and has earned his Six Sigma Green Belt.
Chan has nine years of experience in semiconductor applications and electronic packaging assemblies, including wafer-bumping processes, flip chip packaging, LED packaging, passive and hybrid components, PCB assembly applications, and more. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems at the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan, USA.
Kim has 12 years of experience in the semiconductor and electronics industry. He has been involved with numerous engineering capabilities and has created complete process solutions, enabling a standardized approach streamlining new technology introduction, ensuring repeatability and optimal performance.
