Kurtz Ersa North America, a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, announces that TeligentEMS, based in Havana, FL, has purchased an ECOSELECT 1 Selective Soldering machine.
The ECOSELECT 1 requires less than 3 m² of space, allowing it to fit optimally into cell production environments. In all process steps, the semiautomatic ECOSELECT 1 system uses the same successful and proven Ersa selective soldering technology as the large Ersa VERSAFLOW systems without compromising quality or accuracy. The high-precision servo gantry system and electromagnetic pumping system, together with top- and bottom-side preheating, provide the highest capability and best repeatability.
Mike Geraci, VP of Engineering at TeligentEMS, stated: “As a contract manufacturer, we face a wide variety of soldering challenges, some of which are difficult to process manually due to heavy ground planes, high mass components, and limited access from adjacent components. TeligentEMS specializes in RF (radio frequency) products and recognizes that subtle variations in solder volume can have an adverse antenna effect on product performance. Selective soldering expands our process window with automated preheat and solder dwell times in a nitrogen controlled atmosphere to yield products with high reliability.”
TeligentEMS offers services mechanical, electronic and system level assembly as well as prototyping, new product introduction, material procurement, supply chain management, global sourcing, printed circuit board assembly, in-circuit testing, functional testing and final system box build. Additionally, the company offers depot repair and order fulfillment services, printed circuit board development and functional test development. The range of these services combined with experienced personnel results in capabilities that facilitate a rapid and effective product startup and minimizes time-to-market.
