Visit us at Hall A1.452 where you will see our range of 3V Reed Relays which supplement our already wide range of high quality Reed Relays for Instrumentation and ATE.

Pickering Electronics to showcase 3V versions of its SIL Reed Relays.

Pickering Electronics is showcasing 3V versions of our existing range of SIL Reed Relays.

  • 3 volt operating coils now available in most ranges
  • Ideal for equipment using 3 volt logic

The Series 100 has a coil resistance of 2000 ohms, the Series 101 is 1600 Ohms and the small Series 118 is 1000 Ohms making them ideal for portable equipment.  In some other ranges, we have been able to retain the same coil resistance figures as the 5 volt types. Initially, 1 Form A versions are available and B 2 Form A and Form C versions have been added too.

And like our existing relays they incorporate SoftCenter® technology.

SoftCenter®

Pickering reed relays are encapsulated using a soft inner material to greatly reduce physical stresses on the glass/metal seal of the reed switch capsule. Different materials have different expansion characteristics and the very hard compounds used by most manufacturers can cause stresses that can damage seals or distort the reed switch thereby changing switch blade alignment. This will degrade contact resistance stability and life expectation.

Last but not least: Wetted Reed Relays from Pickering Electronics

Mercury wetted relays remain a good choice for some applications due to the fact that they have no contact bounce, have a high power rating and offer a very low and stable contact resistance, with over one billion operations.  While they do not meet the requirements of the RoHS directive, there are many applications that are exempt from this, for example, medical equipment, instrumentation, military applications, servicing, upgrading or expanding pre RoHS equipment.  One special application involves relays featuring two change-over switches with a common open time. These are used in data acquisition systems using the ‘Flying Capacitor’ technique, this gives superb isolation between the source and the device measuring it.
Pickering Electronics manufacture a very wide range of mercury wetted relays, from large high power devices to very small single-in-line types. Many mercury types from other manufacturers are no longer available so if you have a mercury relay requirement, contact us.

Pickering Electronics - the Reed RelayMate -

An in-depth new publication which looks in details at Reed Relays.  It describes how reed relays are constructed, what types they are, how they work. Also our relay experts describe what parameters can affect their operation, how clients can chose the correct relay and furthermore a comparison with other relay technologies and how to drive and place reed relay coils.
The Reed RelayMate is available free of charge from the page of Pickering Electronics’ website www.pickeringrelay.com and is available as printed copy of PDF format.  We also have copies for you available at productronica.

Pickering Electronics was formed in January 1968, with the aim to design and manufacture high quality reed relays, intended principally for use in Instrumentation and Test equipment. Today, Pickering's Single-in-Line (SIL) range is by far the most developed in the relay industry with relays 25% the size of many of their competitors. The small SIL relays are sold in high volumes to large ATE companies throughout the world.
Pickering Electronics is an ISO 9001 certified company. www.pickeringrelay.com
