Balver Zinn today announced that it has been granted the right to sub-license the SN100C® patent by Nihon Superior Co. Ltd. Tetsuro Nishimura, President of Nihon Superior Co. Ltd., and Josef Jost, President of Balver Zinn, recently met and finalized the details of the agreement under which Balver Zinn now has rights to sub-license its patent for the SN100C alloy globally, with the exception of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In recognizing the agreement, Tetsuro Nishimura said, “I hope that sales of SN100C will be expanded by this arrangement with our global partner Balver Zinn.”

Josef Jost commented, “We are delighted to continue our relationship with Nihon Superior and to support SN100C to our customers.”

When Nihon Superior’s unique lead-free solder SN100C was first developed, the world was not aware of its superior characteristics. When the Video Division of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic) adopted SN100C and decided to implement it in its factory in Peine, Germany, Nihon Superior decided to look for a partner who could support that business, understood SN100C’s strengths and had the ability to take on the challenge of aggressively promoting it more widely.

Nihon Superior found these qualities in Josef Jost and his company, and Balver Zinn has been a licensee of SN100C for more than 11 years now.

Balver Zinn and Cobar offer solder bar, solder wire, solder flux, gel flux, cleaner and solder paste. For more information about the company’s complete range of solder materials, visit www.balverzinn.com or www.cobar.com.
