SMART Group, Europe’s largest technical trade association focusing on surface mount and related technologies, announces that Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking is a sponsor of its annual SMART Group European Conference & Table Top Exhibition, which will be held from 2-3 October 2013 at the Spread Eagle Hotel in Cornmarket Thame, Oxfordshire, England. This is the first time that SMART has received sponsorship from a funding provider.
Keith Bryant, SMART Group’s Chairman, said: “SMART is the largest trade association of its type in Europe and is focused on electronics manufacturing. Our membership covers a spectrum of companies from multinationals to SMEs.
“This partnership provides Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking with direct exposure to this important sector to help improve its understanding of its needs and requirements, while providing attendees with direct access to bank representatives.
“There is more to manufacturing than making things; it is about product ideas, time to market and making money. SMART has always been about networking and this presents a good opportunity for Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking to receive direct contact with the movers and shakers of the industry, resulting in improved industry understanding.”
Richard Holden, head of manufacturing at Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking, said: “We recognise the importance of the role manufacturers are playing in rebalancing the UK economy. In support of this, we have undertaken an extensive training programme for more than one hundred of our managers at the University of Warwick to give them in-depth knowledge into manufacturing businesses and how the bank can really add value to our customers in this sector.
“We are delighted to be supporting this event which emphasises our commitment to UK manufacturing and will provide our managers with greater insight into the real issues that are impacting manufacturing SMEs.”
The presentation from the Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking team will describe how the bank can support commercial enterprises with tailored funding solutions, and representatives will be available on both days of the conference to speak with delegates.
Lloyds TSB Commercial Banking is committed to supporting its customers’ growth and development plans through the delivery of local relationship banking.
