CGI Americas receives New Technology Award for PCBA First Article Verification System

CGI Americas (Santa Ana, CA) today announced that the company has been awarded Circuits Assembly Magazine’s NPI Award for the recently introduced Newly N=1 First Article Verification System.

First Article, or F/A verification is a critical function in electronics manufacturing. The N=1 is the first system to both electrically and optically verify the proper components, orientation and other critical parameters on prototype and pre-production printed circuit assemblies.

This is the first machine in its class to integrate impedance checking into its test capabilities to verify capacitor, resistor and resistor module values. The system then optically verifies component text, orientation, and X/Y positioning.

The Newly N=1 system saves electronics assemblers time and money by improving the speed and accuracy of the first article inspection process, and preventing quality escapes that can result in expensive repairs, rework and recalls.
