Generating functional test programs for boards and components normally requires an in-depth level of understanding of the underlying circuit and tester and can take weeks or even months to develop. However, that is no longer the case. The New Data Capture Pod from Diagnosys gives you a fast and efficient tool for generating functional test programs.

The Data Capture Pod quickly converts actual signals from an individual IC or at the edge connector of a PCB into functional test programs ready for use with the PinPoint range of test and fault finding systems.

The Data Capture Pod provides programmable threshold voltages, sampling rates and trigger conditions along with dedicated analog channels for increased flexibility. The included USB 3.0 and 100BASE-T interfaces allows the Data Capture Pod to be used with any PinPoint system or connected directly to a laptop for use in the workshop or in the field to acquire real-life data.

“The new Data Capture Pod allows us to address a wider scope of applications,” said Tim Webb, President - Diagnosys US Operations. “The versatility offered by the expandable system provides a path for users to automatically generate functional test programs for simple and complex components and boards.”

The Data Capture Pod starts with 96-single ended digital channels with up to 480 channels by adding expansion modules. Input rages from -2.0v to +4.5v with a sample rate of 200MHz and a pattern depth of 1Mb are standard.
