Feb 12, 2001 Ultrasonic Systems, Inc. now offers a dual flux supply option for Opti-Flux and Econo-Flux spray fluxing systems. Ideal for contract manufacturers, the option enables the operator to switch flux types as required by different processes. The new option utilizes two flux lines that feed to the spray head through a T-fitting - the flux change takes less than one minute.
The T-fitting eliminates the need for cleaning by keeping the fluxes separate until just before they reach the self-cleaning spray head. To switch flux types, the operator simply activates the alternate flux supply, which automatically stops the flow of the original flux supply and adjusts to the pre-set process parameters of the second flux.
The Opti-Flux Series of spray fluxers is ideal for the precision flux application of flux to printed circuit boards. The system significantly improves the no-clean process by depositing the optimal amount of flux to facilitate soldering, and no more. This results in a reduction of flux residue on the board, fewer soldering defects, and less overall flux usage.
