The SMTA Capital Chapter is pleased to invite you to its upcoming meeting on November 8, 2012, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Zentech Manufacturing, 6980 Tudsbury Road, Baltimore, MD 21244.
During this fourth chapter event of 2012, Debbie Carboni, Kyzen Corporation, will present a paper on the topic of “Cleaning Value in High Reliability - Contamination and Its Effect on Reliability.” Increased electrical device functionality results from closer spacing between conductors and highly dense interconnects. Electronic assembly reliability decreases with device miniaturization, closer spacing and electric field. Process and service related contaminants accelerate the potential for device failures. Corrosion problems decrease product life and reduce functionality. The purpose of the presentation is to discuss the risks of contamination and its effects on printed wiring assemblies and the value cleaning brings to manufacturers.
Additionally, Chrys Shea, Shea Engineering Services, will speak about “Technical Presentation Skills.” Good communications skills are important to career advancement, particularly in technical disciplines. This presentation reviews the many different types of documents and presentations engineers are required to produce as part of their jobs, and offers tips and advice on how to create effective communication on scientific subjects.
