SEHO North America, Inc. and Balver Zinn announce a Selective Soldering Seminar from the SEHO Academy, scheduled to take place Tuesday, September 25, 2012 and a Wave Soldering Seminar, scheduled to take place Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
Part of the successful SEHO Academy with more than 500 satisfied attendees worldwide, the seminars will help to increase the quality level of the production process and decrease manufacturing costs, thus enabling participants to realize a higher level of profitability. SEHO's training concept is based on a balance of classroom learning and basic hands-on training.
Selective Soldering Seminar, September 25, 2012:
The one-day seminar will provide information about and focus on the importance of precision in the selective soldering process, with the resulting demand for process optimization to improve both quality and cycle time. The seminar will provide detailed theoretical background knowledge followed by basic hands-on training.
Attendees will learn about:
• Process teaching parameters
• Lead-free selective soldering
• Typical issues in the selective soldering process, such as poor hole fill, solder bridging and solder balling
• Basic rules for board design to avoid difficulties in the production process
• Process-related soldering defects and corrective measures
Wave Soldering Seminar, September 26, 2012:
The one-day seminar will impart comprehensive knowledge regarding the wave soldering process with a focus on lead-free wave soldering.
Attendees will learn about:
• Typical parameters of the wave soldering process
• Flux application and fluxer variants
• The role of preheating and the different types of preheating options
• Lead-free soldering and the difficulties in running a process
• Reduction of typical soldering defects
• Soldering in Nitrogen
The SEHO seminars will be supplemented by a practice-oriented lecture presented by Balver Zinn. As a leading supplier of solder alloys and fluxes, Balver Zinn will highlight the influence of the chemistry (flux) on different solder processes and their impact on the long-term reliability of solder joints. Additionally, a special focus will be placed on solder bath management to avoid solder contamination because of copper dissolution and other metals.
Both seminars will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport with transportation provided to the SEHO North America facility in the afternoon for the hands-on demonstration.
