Cogiscan, the leading track, trace and control solution provider for the electronics manufacturing industry, announces that it has been awarded a 2012 NPI Award in the category of Labeling Equipment for its LabelScan Automated Vision System. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, February 28, 2012 ceremony that took place at the San Diego Convention Center in California.
The new handheld vision system can take a single image of all the fields on a supplier barcode label. The turnkey solution features an advanced algorithm to recognize the different fields of data and transfer this data in a suitable format to any application used for receiving materials, such as an MES, MRP or ERP.
“This is a great recognition for LabelScan and the team behind its development. Since we introduced this product, we have received an overwhelming response from our customers and partners. We truly appreciate this additional visibility and endorsement provided by the NPI Awards and their industry experts,” commented François Monette, Co-President Sales and Marketing, Cogiscan.
Premiering in 2008, the NPI Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly. Premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology are chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
