Palmdale, CA – November 2, 2011 – Senior Systems, a mid-tier electronic manufacturing services (EMS) company serving the Medical, Commercial/Industrial, CleanTech and Military/Aerospace industries has been named a semi-finalist for a 2011 Operational Excellence Award by the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA).
SEA is an aerospace and defense non-profit alliance founded by prime and tier-one companies, and led by sub-tier suppliers committed to accelerating supply chain performance. Each fall, the organization names winners in seven different categories: Operational Excellence, Leadership & Culture, Workforce Development, Supply Chain Innovation, Customer of the Year, Leadership Excellence, and Most Improved Using
SEA Metrics.
Senior Systems is one of nine semi-finalists in the category of Operational Excellence, which also includes Alaska Airlines. “We are proud to be among such distinguished company,” said Tim Morrissey, Senior Systems President and CEO.
According to the SEA, semi-finalists are among the few and rare breed of suppliers who have distinguished themselves by making an uncommon investment in improvement. In many cases, the difference between the winners, finalists and semi-finalists is very small. This year’s 44 semi-finalists were chosen from more than 670 nominees nationwide.
“We are certainly hopeful that our nomination is a precursor to winning our category,“ states Morrissey, “but nonetheless, I am extremely proud of the Senior Systems team
in achieving semi-finalist status.”
Winners will be announced at the 2011 SEA Awards Gala on November 17, 2011 at
the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells, California.
