LPKF Announces Successful Laser Plastic Welding Webinar

Jul 18, 2011

LPKF, a leading manufacturer of laser and electronic systems, announces that its recent webinar series, “Laser Plastic Welding 101,” has been very successful. Since May, there have been four live webinars from LPKF.

Laser plastic welding has been around for decades, but with an ever increasing demand for smaller, more intricate and sensitive devices, laser plastic welding is growing to become a major player in plastics joining methods. The webinar discusses what laser plastic welding has to offer and why it is a driving force behind innovative devices in the medical and automotive industries.

The webinar provides a basic introduction to laser plastic welding and its advantages. It also details how laser plastic welding works and highlights the fundamental concepts. Examples of common and innovative applications using laser plastic welding are presented, and the webinar concludes with an informative question & answer session.

We are very happy with the results we are seeing. Our aim is to educate the plastics joining industry about laser plastic welding and these webinars are a highly effective means of doing this. We are now in the process of gearing up for another round of webinars,” commented Josh Brown, Marketing Development Representative, LPKF Laser & Electronics.

LPKF’s next webinar series is titled “Laser Plastic Welding - Design Guidelines” and will focus on recommendations and considerations for engineers looking to design parts to be assembled via laser plastic welding. Details for the upcoming webinar will follow soon.
