Senior Systems Featured in Manufacturing Today Magazine

Oct 20, 2011

Palmdale, CA – October 20, 2011 – Senior Systems, a mid-tier electronic manufacturing services (EMS) company serving the medical, industrial, and defense/aerospace industries is the focus of a feature article of the Fall 2011 issue of Manufacturing Today magazine.

The quarterly publication analyzes Best Practices strategies of the most successful firms in the manufactured goods marketplace. These “case studies” serve as a benchmarking tool across the vast industry spectrum which ranges from aerospace to electronics, transportation to consumer products.

The article, “Head of the Class,” focuses on Senior Systems’ state-of-the art capabilities, technologies and equipment, which have led to the firm’s increases in market share. Gregg Mozdy, Senior Systems’ vice president of business development, attributes the growth to a simple, but critical, difference: “We outperform what our customers would expect.”

As an example, Manufacturing Today cites the story of a Clean Technology company breaking into the wind power market. The customer initially chose another EMS manufacturer over Senior Systems due to a lower bid, but the other firm was not able to ramp up in time and the customer quickly turned back to Senior Systems.

Says Mozdy, “We set up the work cell, acquired the material and built the units the customers needed, and in far less time quoted by the other manufacturer. As a result, we helped [the] company capture a market window that they would have missed if they had stayed with the other manufacturer.”

The Manufacturing Today article highlights Senior Systems’ lean manufacturing, experienced staff, and nimble, customizable assembly operations, and summarizes the company’s unique market position as combining “the state-of-the-art capabilities, technology and equipment of a large manufacturing operation with the dedication and loyal service levels of a much smaller firm.”
