Computrol, Inc., a world-class provider of mid- to low-volume, high-mix electronics manufacturing services to OEMs, purchased two Rhythm Slide Selective Soldering Systems from RPS Automation LLC. RPS designs and manufactures reliable, high-quality soldering automation and solderability test systems.
The purchase of the Rhythm Slide Selective Soldering Systems is a key step in Computrol’s strategic effort to increase its capacity and expand its capabilities. “With today’s state-of-the-art and dense designs, the use of wave solder pallets is not always an option,” stated Farid Anani, Computrol’s Manufacturing Manager. “The addition of the Rhythm Slide Selective Solder Systems bridges this gap, and will enable us to provide consistent, high-quality mixed-technology assemblies.”
Based on the popular Rhythm System, the Rhythm Slide is an affordable, high-performance mini-wave selective soldering system for through-hole component soldering and odd-form electronics assemblies.
The system has a process range of 12 x 12" and performs precise dip, drag-and-dip soldering using a precision RPS mini-wave nozzle and a high durability EFD stainless steel flux nozzle - both nozzles articulate below the PCB. As a manual load system, the Rhythm Slide is suited for affordable, high-mix manufacturing.
Computrol will install both Rhythm Slide Selective Soldering Systems at its manufacturing facility in Orem, Utah, where the company specializes in turnkey electronics contract manufacturing; complete electronics assembly; single- and double-sided PCB assembly; cable assembly; wireless harness assembly; supply chain management; SMT, through-hole and mixed PCA; BGA assembly; press-fit and backplane assembly; electro-mechanical and subassembly builds; complete box builds; flying probe test, in-circuit test and functional test; and RoHS compliant/lead-free procurement and assembly.
