Libra Industries, a privately held electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider, recently sponsored the Christopher R. Howell Memorial Foundation’s 13th Annual Golf Outing that took place Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Kirtland Country Club. During the event, Libra Industries’ CEO Rod Howell awarded three scholarships totaling $22,500. The scholarships were awarded as follows:

Christopher R. Howell Memorial Foundation College Scholarship – Colleen Baldrey is the 2018 Kirtland High School Scholarship recipient. The Christopher R. Howell Foundation is thrilled to present Baldrey with a $10,000 scholarship to pursue an education.

The Christopher R. Howell Memorial Foundation awards scholarships to graduating seniors of Kirtland High School who have demonstrated strength of character and a desire to succeed both in and out of the classroom. The Foundation was established as a memorial to Christopher R. Howell, a Kirtland resident whose unconditional love and compassion for children left a mark on all who came in contact with him. Chris passed away in 2001 at the age of 38. He was the VP of Libra Industries for 21 years at the time of his death. For more information about the Christopher R. Breakthrough Charter School Scholarship – Libra Industries CEO Rod Howell presented a donation of $10,000. Breakthrough Schools, is a network of high-performing public charter schools whose mission is to develop a growing network of distinctive school options that prepare Cleveland area students for success in life. In the 2017-18 school year, Breakthrough will serve 3,400 students in grades K-8 across 11 high-quality schools, representing three unique education models. Libra Employee Family Scholarship – Jocelyn Engelman, a Libra associate, received a $2500 scholarship. The Libra family scholarship is available to any Libra employee or family member. It can be used for any type of continuing education.
