Virtual Industries to Exhibit Latest Equipment at SPIE Photonics West 2010

Jan 05, 2010

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — January 2010 — Virtual Industries Inc., a leading supplier of manual vacuum handling solutions, announces that it will display several advanced systems in booth 2223 at the upcoming SPIE Photonics West exhibition, scheduled to take place January 23-28, 2010 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

The Small Part Handling Kit (TV1000-SP8-BD) is for parts as small as 250 µm. This general-purpose vacuum handling tool plugs directly into 110 V 50/60 Hz. The compact unit will handle a variety of optics, ball lenses and SMT parts used in the industry today.

Parts as small as 0.010" (0.25 mm) are handled without damage. A vacuum tweezer eliminates lost parts associated with mechanical tweezer handling. The long-life diaphragm vacuum pump generates up to 10" of mercury with an open air flow of 2.3 lpm. The unit connects to ground automatically with a three-wire power cord.

The PAC-VAC Vacuum Tool Kit (V3200) is battery operated and self-contained. The kit runs up to eight hours continuously on one 9 V alkaline battery. This versatile unit can be clipped to a belt or pocket for one-handed portable operation.

The system is constructed with ESD-safe materials and comes complete with a power on LED indicator. The PAC-VAC also includes 4 ft. of coiled vacuum hose and a set of nine vacuum tips and a push-button-operated vacuum pick-up handle.

The HANDI-VAC Squeeze Bulb Kit (HV-KIT-B) is a low-cost pick-and-place tool that can go in any tool box. The kit comes with four probes and vacuum cups. This tool can be used with any of Virtual Industries’ rubber vacuum cups ranging in size from 3/32" (2.38 mm) to 3/4" (19.05 mm) in diameter.

Applications for this tool include SMT parts, metal parts, plastic parts or any item with a smooth-nonporous-surface that the rubber vacuum tweezer tip can seal against.
