SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH OCTOBER 8, 2004 Parvus Corporation expects to soon release its MPEG104+, a real-time MPEG-4 video compressor / encoder in the PC/104-Plus form factor, ruggedly designed for high reliability surveillance systems in transport, aviation and defense applications.

Supporting up to four independent cameras, the MPEG104+ module provides dedicated hardware and rate control algorithms for high-resolution live video encoding. Compatible with Windows and Linux, the board is well suited for applications with space constraints and harsh environmental conditions, including high vibration and temperature extremes. Both commercial and extended temperature rated industrial (40C to +85C.) versions will be released.

In addition to producing high quality MPEG-4 video streams from PAL/NTSC cameras and other video sources, the MPEG104+ compressor provides four audio input channels and an analog video output channel to perform real-time monitoring of the recording sequence. The card also supports motion detection functionality and has fully programmable or automatic static gain control for each CVBS channel, as well as programmable video quality control, and automatic switching between PAL and NTSC standards.
