Were very pleased that our achievements in developing a new platform for analog design have been recognized by the industrys most prominent source of information and analysis for design engineering, said Bill McLean, President and CEO at Anadigm. Over the past 13 years, EDNs awards program has honored a long line of distinguished products and technologies, and were proud to be included among the leaders in the electronics industry considered for the 2002 award.
Anadigms Anadigmvortex is the industry's first product family to enable the design and implementation of dynamically reconfigurable analog circuits a breakthrough capability that allows analog functions to be controlled as a peripheral in an embedded microcontroller-based system. Combining powerful new EDA software, configurable analog modules (CAMs), and advanced FPAAs, Anadigmvortex reduces the time required for analog design implementations from months to minutes.
With Anadigms second-generation product family, users can design and implement circuits using the intuitive AnadigmDesigner2 software. Time to solution is drastically reduced compared with an analog ASIC or discrete implementation, and designers can update the circuit functionality in real time using automatically generated C-code. Dynamic reconfigurability enables real-time reload of new device configurations, allowing the device operation to be "time-sliced." System integrity is also preserved through manipulation of the tuning or the construction of any part of the circuit without interrupting operation of the FPAA.
A panel of EDNs technical editors selected finalists for the 2002 Innovation of the Year Awards in seventeen categories. Award-winners will be determined by EDN readers through an online ballot on the EDN Access Web site (www.edn.com), where reviewer comments for each product have been posted. The results of the ballot are to be announced at an awards ceremony on April 22 and published in the May 1 issue of EDN.

About Anadigm
Anadigm combines the three most powerful design trends from the digital world (design automation, field programmable ICs, real-time updating) into a platform for analog design, greatly reducing cost of ownership for analog signal conditioning and processing functions across many market segments. Founded in January 2000 as a venture-backed technology spinoff from Motorola, the company maintains U.S. headquarters in Campbell, Calif., and European headquarters in Crewe, U.K. For further information, visit Anadigm on the Web at http://www.anadigm.com.
