I would like to introduce you to Equipment Reliability
Institute's (ERI) new course "EMI, RFI and EMC - Testing and
Remediation". The dates are November 5-6, 2001. The location
is Garwood Test Laboratory, 7829 Industry Avenue, Pico Rivera
(Los Angeles), California.
The course will be taught by Jerry Ramie, a 20 year veteran of
Regulatory Compliance, EMC, and RF/Microwave measurement
instrumentation activities, and William H. Parker, with 26 years
of continuous, varied experience in EMC theory, analysis,
specifications, design, testing, fixing, teaching, management,
and marketing. Bill is currently Vice-President of the IEEE EMC
Society.
The course will cover not only EMI testing but also its
corollary: electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Whereas Jerry
on Monday will discuss testing, Bill on Tuesday will focus on
remediation of problems found by testing.
This course is needed by designers who want to avoid EMC/EMI/RFI
problems of both excessive radiation and susceptibility. Also by
test personnel who need to know about various worldwide EMC
regulations and the correct ways to conduct required tests.
Further details are presently on ERI's Web sites -
www.equipment-reliability.com and http://www.vibrationandshock.com - or
at this link http://www.equipment-reliability.com/emc.htm. I'll
be happy to answer questions about the course.
