Governor of the State of Wisconsin, was the keynote speaker at the Wisconsin SMTA Expo and Tech Forum. The event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Milwaukee Airport on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Due to another scheduled speaking engagement, Lt. Governor Kleefisch only had time to visit a few booths and the Horizon booth was one that caught her attention.
“After a warm handshake and some small talk, Lt. Governor Kleefisch quickly got down to business and asked what Horizon Sales was and if we were from Wisconsin,” commented Dave Trail, President of Horizon Sales. “I explained that we were from the great State of Michigan and were exhibiting some new and interesting products from companies around the world that would help Wisconsin and other Midwestern manufacturers improve their processes, increase quality and competiveness. I showed her some of the Juki product literature and explained how Juki is able to automate the entire PCB assembly process and, thus, make us much more competitive in the world economy. She seemed to take a keen interest in all of the literature that we had on display and thanked us very much for our interest in Wisconsin’s manufacturing competitiveness.”
Lt. Governor Kleefisch is a former small business owner and news reporter. She is the 44th Lt. Governor of Wisconsin and is widely credited with the phrase “Wisconsin Is Open for Business!” Lt. Governor Kleefisch heads the Governors Small Business Summit and serves on the Manufacturers & STEM Committees of the Aerospace States Association.
