DuPont Electronic Technologies' Printed Circuit Materials Division Announces Price Increase for Riston Photopolymer Dry Film Resists

Jun 04, 2003

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, ., June 2, 2003 - DuPont Printed Circuit Materials, part of DuPont Electronic Technologies, today announced a price increase of 4 to 7 percent for all types of DuPont Riston photopolymer dry film resists, effective immediately, subject to terms and conditions of existing contracts. Riston dry film photoresist is used in the manufacture of printed wiring boards. DuPont cites rising raw material, transportation and energy costs as reasons for the increase.

"With the current state of the industry in mind, we have been hesitant for months to share the increased costs of our dry film products with customers," said Mats J. Ehlin, marketing manager for DuPont Printed Circuit Materials. "However, we are continuing to experience significant cost increases for monomers, resins, polyester, polyethylene, solvent and packaging materials. We have now reached a point where we find it necessary to convey some of these rising costs. DuPont remains fully committed to the printed circuit industry, and to providing the unparalleled quality and service customers expect from us,'' he said.

DuPont invented Riston dry film photoresist over 30 years ago and remains the industry leader with eight manufacturing locations in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
