Congressman John R. Carter Discusses Pro-Manufacturing Policies with IPC-member Company, VirTex

Aug 10, 2017

Today, IPC-member company VirTex held a town hall-style discussion with Congressman John R. Carter (R-TX-13) on the legislative issues impacting the manufacturing industry. Executives and employees of VirTex gave Congressman Carter a first-hand look at the innovative work taking place in their Austin, Texas facility.

“Advanced manufacturing is an essential industry here in Texas and across the country,” said Congressman Carter. “I enjoyed today’s conversations on the policy issues facing this industry and the personal stories from the employees here at VirTex.”

Coordinated by IPC, the world’s leading association for the electronics industry, this visit is part of their “Meet the Policymakers” program, an ongoing effort that connects policymakers with their constituents. During the visit, Senator Carter and VirTex executives and staff discussed issues such as corporate tax reform, the federal budget and environmental regulations.

On behalf of the staff here at VirTex, I want to thank Congressman Carter for taking the time to visit our manufacturing facility today,” said Brad Heath, CEO and founder of VirTex. “We appreciate his interest in hearing directly from those on the front lines to understand the challenges our industry is facing. Many of our employees live in his district and it was a great opportunity for him to hear what is important to them. We look forward to continuing this discussion and finding new ways to stimulate economic growth in Texas.”
