Mars Curiosity Mission to be Featured at IPC APEX EXPO 2013 Chief Engineer B. Gentry Lee Slated for Thursday Keynote

Oct 10, 2012

B. Gentry Lee, chief engineer for the Solar System Exploration Directorate at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), will provide an inside look at the Mars Curiosity rover mission during his keynote address at IPC APEX EXPO® on Thursday, February 20, 2013, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.

Lee is responsible for the engineering integrity of the robotic planetary missions managed by JPL for NASA, including the popular Curiosity rover mission. The Curiosity rover is a mobile laboratory sent to Mars to determine whether the planet has ever had conditions favorable to life.
Lee’s keynote will explore the mission to Mars that has captured the imagination of millions, and share the feats of engineering behind the Curiosity itself — which carries the biggest, most advanced payload of scientific instruments ever sent to the Martian surface.

IPC received a number of member requests to hear more about the mission since space travel is very special to them and very significant to our industry,” said Alicia Balonek, senior director of trade shows and events. “We are really excited to hear from Gentry Lee and to be able to share this exciting milestone with the industry.”

The Mars Curiosity Mission keynote is free to all IPC APEX EXPO registrants. A free exhibits-only registration to IPC APEX EXPO provides free access to all the keynote sessions, technical BUZZ sessions, industry poster presentations and several networking events, including the show’s exhibition, which features more than 400 of the industry’s top suppliers.
Special registration packages provide savings on a number of educational opportunities at the event, including the technical conference, standards development meetings and professional development courses. In addition, individuals who register by January 25, 2013, can save 20 percent on registration fees. To view all IPC APEX EXPO registration options, visit www.IPCAPEXEXPO.org/register.
