Aqueous Technologies' Trident Zero Wins a 2011 EM Asia Innovation Award

May 14, 2011

The Trident Zero is the industry’s most environmentally responsible fully automated defluxing and cleanliness testing system.

The Trident Zero is the industry’s most environmentally responsible fully automated defluxing and cleanliness testing system.

Aqueous Technologies Corp., North America’s largest provider of batch defluxing systems, announces that it has been awarded a 2011 EM Asia Innovation Award in the category of Cleaning Equipment for its Trident Zero. The award was presented to the company during a May 12, 2011 ceremony that took place at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center during NEPCON China 2011.

The Trident Zero is the industry’s most environmentally responsible fully automated defluxing and cleanliness testing system. Unlike other closed-loop defluxing systems, the Trident Zero is capable of removing all flux types including no-clean, rosin and water soluble. The Trident Zero also is capable of operating with a variety of environmentally safe defluxing chemistries frequently required for specific types of flux removal. Trident Zero provides automatic cleaning, cleanliness testing, drying, chemical dosing, complete assembly specific SPC via bar-code scanning, and operates without sending any water to the drain.

The Trident Zero’s average total cycle time is less than 30 minutes, making it the fastest fully automatic defluxing system available. The system can clean one month’s worth of production while consuming less than ten gallons (38 liters) of water, all of which is lost to normal evaporation.

Established in 2006, the EM Asia Innovation Awards program strives to recognize and celebrate excellence in the Asian electronics industry, inspiring companies to achieve the highest standards and push the industry forward.

Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Aqueous Technologies Corporation is North America's leading manufacturer of aqueous cleaning systems. Aqueous Technologies manufactures both batch-format and inline aqueous cleaning/defluxing systems. Aqueous Technologies also manufactures both ultrasonic and spray-in-air stencil cleaning systems, PCB and stencil cleaning chemistries and the Zero-Ion ionic contamination (cleanliness) tester. Aqueous Technologies’ products have won more than 30 industry awards.
