Strong growth in the segment of identification and masking
In 2015 AdoptSMT doubled their sales of identification labels and masking labels. For the continuation of this growth and even better support of their customers AdoptSMT has hired Michael Rosenwirth for the new position of Product Manager Identification. At SMT 2016 he will be at the show for the first time as an AdoptSMT employee and will be available to help interested customers with his 25 years of experience in the ID industry.
Automated Marking of PCBs without machine investment
Hover-Davis label feeders are available for the most popular pick and place machines on the market. They eliminate the need to invest into a labelling machine or a laser marking machine, the existing pick and place machine can place labels presented by the label feeder like a standard SMT component. The combination of Hover-Davis label feeders and Nortec high temperature labels for auto apply will remain to be the strongest AdoptSMT offering in the field of industrial identification. In addition the 25 years of experience of their new product manager are helping AdoptSMT to consult even better on the different options to print labels. Customers can purchase ready printed labels or get support to set up their own print center. This can include printer, labels, ribbons, label software as well as validation and verification systems like these are used to print the ready printed labels.
AdoptSMT is also offering complete solutions for the production of name plates / type labels. By selecting the right materials and printing with thermal transfer the needed durability of the label including the print is ensured. AdoptSMT can supply printing systems to be installed at the customer, blank labels or partially printed labels with suiting ribbons and ready printed labels.
Masking for protection at wave solder or conformal coating process
Masking dots and masking labels of different shapes can be presented by a Hover-Davis label feeder and placed automatically just like identification labels. In addition AdoptSMT is also supplying heat resistant Polyimid masking dots and masking tapes for manual masking of edge connectors, terminals or other areas on PCBs which shouldn’t get in contact with the hot solder wave. The dots and tapes can be removed after soldering without leaving behind any residues. AdoptSMT is offering the best prices on the market and can supply many sizes from stock.
Placement Aids
AdoptSMT is also supplying special Nortec Polyimid labels, which are attached to the top of irregular shaped components so these components can get picked automatically. These placement aids can be removed after soldering without leaving residues on the components. Nortec placement aids are being used in SMT assembly departments, at tape and reel service providers and at manufacturers of sensors.
Hover-Davis SA Automation Feeder
See at our stand at SMT 2016 the new adaption of SSF feeders for automation. Easy integration with product specific machines by well documented communication interface and stable base plate. All the advantages of SSF feeders are now available with an easy protocol.
Hover-Davis Direct Die Feeder
The only Wafer feeder available for different SMT placement systems and custom automation platforms. Single wafers are vertically loaded into the feeder, positioned automatically, then precisely located by a vision system. The DDf Innova may use either ink dot recognition or wafer mapping to ensure that only good die are extracted from the wafer frame.
Using Direct Die Feeders from Hover-Davis lowers overall capital investment and reduces assembly costs. By utilizing DDf technology, customers may realize significant savings by:
- Eliminating separate and dedicated production lines for SMT, bare die, and flip chip by combining them into one.
- Enabling total assembly solutions with much higher speed and flexibility, resulting in lower cost per placement.

New nozzle magazine for SIPLACE 7xx/9xx nozzles
Continuous improvement in spare parts support: One year after the introduction of the Aluminium shutter retrofit for OEM plastic nozzle magazines AdoptSMT introduced at productronica 2015 their meanwhile well proven new construction. The new nozzle magazine is completely produced of metal parts, this way all parts are durable. The nozzles are sitting in complete round holes in the non-moving top plate and held in position by robust springs. Numbers of the nozzle garages are clearly marked and can be read easily.
New – StripFeeder Lightweight
AdoptSMT is showing Count On Tool’s new version in its award-winning line of StripFeeder products – the StripFeeder Lightweight for use in OEM automated tray towers.
Stripfeeders are especially used for assembling samples or small batches. Often only strips of SMT tapes are available which are too short for standard tape feeders. The StripFeeder.mod can present a few different components on the size of a JEDEC tray. The StripFeeder.mini is only half the size of a JEDEC tray and can be used when more different components need to be presented or the pick and place machine doesn’t have room for a JEDEC tray.
New - Flexible Squeegee Blades
After internal qualification and exited feedback from customer tests AdoptSMT is presenting at the SMT show 2016 their premium part range of flexible squeegee blades compatible to DEK and Ekra squeegee holders. The flexible material and the high quality nickel coating make the blades very robust and result in less stencil abrasion and more uniform print results.
New - Thermaltronics is adding pre heaters to the range of soldering stations with Curie Heat Technology
AdoptSMT is continuing to distribute the complete product portfolio of Thermaltronics soldering stations, soldering and de-soldering cartridges. Thermaltronics solder stations are based on Curie Heat Technology which responds to the thermal demands of each solder joint by adjusting the power instantaneously, thereby meeting the exact requirements of the substrate component and solder material.
Like the range of solder stations and cartridges, also the Thermaltronics prehaters are offered for very attractive prices.
Hand Soldering
This segment is complemented by products from JBC (high quality soldering systems), Purex (fume extraction systems), Plato (solder tips), Indium Corporation (soldering materials supplied in Austria and Switzerland) and cleaning sprays and desoldering braids from Techspray. New products are solder tip cleaners from JBC and Thermaltronics.
AdoptSMT supplies consumables, spare parts and tools for the PCB assembly process, for repair soldering and for industrial identification. For the PCB assembly industry also service and overhauled equipment are offered. AdoptSMT Europe GmbH was founded in 1991 by Erhard Hofmann in Salzburg, Austria, and since then expanded Europe-Wide.
