Kyzen to Present Tips for Cleaning Highly Dense Assemblies at New England Cleaning and Reliability Workshop

Sep 09, 2013

Kyzen announces that Debbie Carboni will present at the upcoming Cleaning and Reliability workshop, together with Aqueous Technologies, FCT Assembly, Nordson DAGE and Heller on Thursday, October 24, 2013 in Marlborough, MA. Carboni will discuss the cleaning technology innovations needed to clean highly dense assemblies.

As highly dense circuit assemblies continue to advance at a rapid pace, the removal of process residues is becoming increasingly more important. As the distance between conductors narrow, residues under component gaps pose a reliability risk. Additionally, the transition to lead-free alloys with tighter component densities requires flux residue innovations that can withstand higher reflow temperatures. As a result, cleaning agents must be designed to remove strong covalent (hydrophobic) and weak ion (hydrophilic) bonds. Cleaning machines must be designed to move the cleaning agent to the source of the residue and either extract or create a flow channel to remove residues under component gaps. Carboni will discuss the recent solvent, aqueous cleaning agent and cleaning equipment innovations have been developed to bridge this gap.

Carboni joined Kyzen in 2007 as a Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager. A 15-year veteran of the precision cleaning industry, Debbie’s primary expertise is in the cleaning sector of the electronics industry. Recognizing Debbie’s talents and expertise, Kyzen soon named her North American Sales Manager for Kyzen’s Electronics Division. Debbie serves as an active member of the SMTA Philadelphia Chapter. She actively contributes as an author of technical papers that focus on precision cleaning and wave soldering and presents at various forums and workshops across North America. She brings a unique understanding of cleaning equipment and processes, making her a valuable resource for addressing emerging cleaning challenges.

This workshop will be presented free of charge. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Seating is limited and this event will sell-out, so reserve your seat today. To register, please contact Lisa Kocks at 909-291-1122 or by email at workshop@aqueoustech.com. For more information about the workshop, visit http://tinyurl.com/pf75mlp.
