X8068 universal X-ray inspection system

Viscom, one of the leading manufacturers of systems for optical and X-ray inspection, has extended its portfolio in the X-ray inspection range with a new, flexible inspection system. The X8068 universal X-ray inspection system unites the high inspection quality and technology of the proven Viscom X-ray systems with an extended inspection scope for larger electronic assemblies. With this solution, electronics manufacturers could not be better equipped as far as both test piece size and application are concerned.

With this new inspection system, Viscom has taken the increased demands on X-ray inspections in electronics manufacturing into consideration. The system offers high flexibility especially for small and mid-sized companies to react to the requirements of their customers. Whether for fast and powerful random sample analysis of non-standard components or automated, hassle-free series inspection of larger printed circuit board panels, the X8068 is superbly equipped for both tasks.

With the X8068, the entire spectrum of inspection objects up to a diameter of 722mm can be reliably inspected. The open X-ray tube ensures the highest resolution and detail recognition in first-class image quality. Thus, even the smallest defective structures are reliably detected. A sealed direct beam tube also is available as a system option.

The system convinces with a mature technology that demonstrates its full strength in the interaction of all the hardware and software components. The user-friendly new IPS monitor depicts the X-ray results in the best quality, independent of viewing angle. In order to cover the largest possible inspection area, the detector swivel range is up to 60°. System operation is easy and convenient.

With the simultaneous availability of two inspection concepts on one system, Viscom has achieved a unique competitive feature regarding inspection scope. Thus, the Viscom XMC software is available for specialized inspection or non-standard components. Thanks to intuitive operation and comprehensive automatic analysis functions, any inspection objects can be quickly and precisely checked. The system offers manual and semiautomatic inspection for the widest range of objects.

The proven SI software of the Viscom X7056 family is employed on the X8068 for fully automatic X-ray analysis. With the X8068, more than 25 years’ experience in assembly inspection is specially oriented to SMD production. This means the unique Viscom Quality Uplink also can be used. Through the linking of inspection results from SPI, AOI, AXI and MXI, this function provides a simplified classification and effective process control. The X8068 is a top seller in the area of safety-relevant electronic assemblies, especially in the automotive electronics sector.

Viscom AG develops, manufactures and sells high-quality inspection systems. The portfolio encompasses the complete bandwidth of optical and X-ray inspections.
