The SMTA announced that the Evolving Technologies Summit will be held on September 29, 2014 as a focused symposium at SMTA International in Rosemont, Illinois. The purpose of the summit is to present the key issues in Printed Electronics, Advanced Packaging Technology, and Materials Innovations in order to gain insight regarding technology changes in the future.
The event is organized by Reza Ghaffarian, Ph.D., Jet Propulsion Laboratories; Lars Böttcher, Fraunhofer IZM Berlin; and Steve Greathouse, Plexus Corp.
The morning sessions take on the topics of Embedded Technology and Additive Manufacturing or Printed Electronics. Jan Vardaman, TechSearch International, Inc., will then provide an exciting keynote lunch presentation on Embedded Technology and why it is flourishing. The afternoon session walks through the next generation of conductive adhesives based on nano-technologies called “Nano Fillers.”
The Summit will end with a panel discussion. The Panel will present the status of new advanced technologies, then discuss and debate timely topics including challenges in Embedded Actives/Passives, 3D/TSV, Printed Electronics, Advanced Packaging Trends, EMS Trends, and the latest status of Lead-Free.
