CASTIN® is a lead-free solder comprised of tin, silver, copper and a grain-refining and temperature-reducing dopant. According to an AIM press release, the solder has a relatively low melting temperature, offers superior joint strength and inhibits intermetallic growth during high thermal temperature cycling. The product contains commonly found, non-toxic elemental constituents.
AIM and Nihon Almit Sign Lead-Free License Agreement

AIM, Inc. and Nihon Almit Co., Ltd. today announced the signing of a worldwide license agreement for AIM's patented lead-free alloy, trade-named CASTIN®. The agreement enables Nihon Almit to manufacture and sell the alloy throughout the world.
