For ex. is it really SMEMA on the DEK side and is it a SMPI interface on the other side? It is easy to tell, take a picture of the connector from the Universal side and post it here. ATI Conveyor Smema Question If the phone jacks have two conductors in them, I would wire them to standard SMEMA connectors so that the upstream side goes to the middle two SMEMA pins and downstream goes to the outermost two pins. DEK SMEMA to UIC Conveyor I’m having trouble with the transfer of one board from the UIC conveyor to a DEk screen printer. They are set up for SMEMA to SMEMA but the DEK keeps asking for a aboard when it already has one. Then it will ask for one every 5-8 seconds. Board take off on Heller We have a conveyor then a FIFO in the middle and a conveyor and a Mag loader at the end. If your oven doesn't have SMEMA (like ours) then you need to the conveyor before each. We trick these conveyors by shorting out the in coming SMEMA so they constantly run. ekra x5 smema question Anyone familiar with making smema work on the ekra x5. I believe is was manufactured with a siemens (not smema)setup. We found the cables to make the siemens work but i am not sure if i can short a couple of inputs on the cable to make the smema function. SMEMA conveyor You should not be worried about these points in the SMEMA standard. You need to make it work for your application. If you are running really small boards, keep the gap between conveyors and the lead-in as tight as you can. If you are using large panels, it will not matter as much. Example: if your panels are 12" long, you could probably live with a 3/4" gap between conveyors (not that you may want to). If your boards are 1" long, you will try to but them up so they almost touch ...

SMEMA compatability Thanks Cal, I'm aware of most of what you say. It seems that the height though is routinely ignored. You say 10"-15" of leg screws, surely the difference can't be that much. All of the Asian PnP machines I have specs on are 900mm +/- for transport height, about 50mm or 2" lower than SMEMA standard. Only the Siemens machines seem to go lower (down to 830mm). Is there a standard height for Asia (interested in China for example ...

Big SMEMA Troubles :-( SMTnetters: My UIC conveyors aren't working with my: - Omniflow 7 Reflow (Mfg 1/95)
- Dek 265 GS
- Philips CSM
What can I do? Does anyone have experience with connecting UIC or other conveyors to the above equipment? On the reflow I jumped terminals 1-3 at the P12 connector on Board 01. We have board width trouble there. The Dek is another mystery and we haven't even looked at the CSM (we expect the worst). One day lost due to SMEMA problem. Aaah!

smema I want to thank you for your help. after further investigation into the panasonic machine one our technicians was able to fix the issue. The panasonic machine uses a 5 volt signal and normal smema uses a 24 volt signal. To make these 2 machine talk to each other, panasonic has a convertor box that uses 2 4 pin molex connectors, then 1 smema connection to the new conveyor. the molex connectors were inside of the machine not labeled. we took the chance and tried using the connections and the ...
